While at our office, we make sure that you receive the highest level of service and ensure that our dental work is of the highest quality. To ensure that you maintain great oral health, this level of quality needs to extend into your personal oral hygiene routine.
Dental/oral hygiene is all about the ways by which the gums, mouth, and teeth are kept in good health condition. Dental hygiene consists of both scheduled dental visits and home-based daily care. Do not neglect your daily brushing and flossing at home, because these together with dental visits are necessary for long lasting natural teeth. We can help you establish a dental hygiene routine that will keep your teeth healthy and white.
You need regular teeth cleaning to remove tartar which develops in areas difficult to reach with daily brushing.
There are different dental specialties in our clinic. We have Oral and maxillofacial surgeons, Periodontists, Prosthodontists, Endodontists, Pediatric dentists and Orthodontists.
If you have a cracked or fractured tooth, a tooth knocked out, a loose tooth etc., you need emergency care. Call a dentist immediately.
You need fluoride treatment to strengthen your teeth and prevent decay.
Oral Hygiene Process
The ADA (American Dental Association) recommends a dental hygiene check-up twice every year for proper maintenance of good oral hygiene. This is because no amount of careful brushing or flossing at home will keep away tartar forever. Over time, tartar will build up on the teeth, and eventually gets below the gum line, an area very susceptible to bacterial infection. Bacterial infection is one of the causes of a wide range of dental ailments.
A dental hygienist has the necessary training, qualification, and experience to handle all cases of tartar build on the teeth. The dentist eliminates tartar by using a tool to scrape off the tartar and any other solid plaque that might have also formed. He may also use X-rays to check if the patient has a proper bite.
After scraping and cleaning the teeth, further investigations may be necessary for the gum and tooth to check for signs of diseases or decay.
Your teeth are not the only important part of your mouth. Your gums are essential to oral hygiene as well. We can provide periodontal cleanings and treatment, or refer you to one of our recommended specialists. Please let us know if you have any questions.
